About Us

MONTACHUSETT SKI & SNOWBOARD CLUB

Who Are We and What Do We Do

The club was established in 1971 as a nonprofit organization to benefit people who like to ski and travel together as a group. Doing this helps to keep the costs of skiing and traveling down, as we can obtain group rates.

We have on average 175 members of all ages and skiing ability. Family and single memberships are available. We also welcome snowboarders and non-skiers who just like to travel and enjoy making new friends.

The club is run by officers elected from the membership each year, and we also have a five member board of directors. We issue a monthly newsletter sent out by mail or directly to people with Internet access containing trip info and all important meeting and trip dates as well as what is happening with our club and it's members.

We organize an annual one week or 10 day trip a year, run an additional two or three regional weekend trips, and sponsor between six to eight day trips throughout the season. Past trips have been to Saint Anton Austria, Lake Tahoe, Chamonix France, Big Sky Montana, Lake Louise Canada, Park City Utah and many other well known ski resorts around the world.

Weekend trips each season in New England or eastern Canada. We have covered all the ski resorts in our area over the years. The day trips each season alternate between Saturdays and Sundays in case you can't do a weekend or week trip. There is always something for everyone! The day trips require a $10.00 deposit upon sign-up and the day tip bus is FREE to our members. The weekend and week trips require deposits and payments set up by the trip leaders. All sign-ups for trips require a deposit.

In addition to our regular trip schedules we are also a member of the Connecticut Ski Council, a benefit that gets our members even more access to “affordable” skiing. Skier appreciation dates are scheduled at most all New England area ski resorts throughout the season. Members can go to the mountain on the scheduled date and by a lift ticket for a discounted price usually at ab out 50% of the regular price at the window. BEAT THAT!!!

Another benefit is the ability to buy pre-season lift tickets for most New England ski resorts at deep discount prices. The lift tickets are good all season, any day you want and no black outs. These extra CSC benefits are only available to our paid members using your club membership card.

We have regular monthly meetings, a Christmas party and a summer outing. During the off-season, we have also organized white water rafting trips, kayak trips, bicycling events and golf trips. It's a fun way to meet people, socialize and participate in activities as a group.

You can join us by simply coming to a meeting, see calendar on this website, fill out a membership form and pay dues. The meetings are social get togethers with many raffle prizes and occasional speakers from different points of interest within the activities we participate in. We hope to see you soon!
